Summary

If you have TEKLYNX CENTRAL software, you already know the advantage of having the detailed log information about what printed and when. However, if you are running LABEL MATRIX, LABELVIEW or CODESOFT, you are still able to get some of this information. The type of information available varies for each software.

This article will show you how to enable the log information for each software. 

Note: The accompanying pictures below were captured from LABEL MATRIX 2018, LABELVEIW 2018 and CODESOFT 2019. If your software has a different version than above, the information should still apply.

Preparation

You should have access to the software (LABEL MATRIX, LABELVIEW or CODESOFT) and are familiar with its features.

Instructions

LABEL MATRIX:

The log information can only be set per label template.  There are not system wide settings.  The format for the log files is CSV.

  1. Open the label design you want to log.
  2. From the menu, select File / Label Properties…
  3. Select Write Data tab
  4. Select appropriate options and click OK.

Note:

Variable Data refers to the data that is entered into the label during print time or from database. Image Data refers to the data that is printed on the label. Some of the data in Image Data may be derived from Variable Data.

LABELVIEW:

The log for LABELVIEW is system-wide. You enable it by selecting Tools / Log file…

Note: The Options tab is only enabled when the Printing log file is set to On

Select desired options and click OK.

CODESOFT:

Similarly, the log for CODESOFT is also system-wide. You enable it by selecting Tools / Log file…
