While using RDP to connect to a computer, the user receives the message “Unable to establish printer communications Check connections. Access is denied.” message when trying to print a document on the connected PC. The problem is traced to permission in the print queue security settings.
In a Terminal Server setting, users need to have specific permissions in order to print to the Terminal Server print spooler. Connecting to a remote PC via RDP, appears to require similar settings.
If you grant Manage Documents permission to the user, this will resolve the problem.
