Unable to Add a Label – TEKLYNX CENTRAL Problem

Summary

This article explains how to resolve the TEKLYNX CENTRAL problem associated with adding a label via the Browser Admin Interface. May include the error message: ‘No connection could be made’

Symptoms

When running the TCADMIN (browser administrator) interface, the browser throws a ‘No connection could be made’ error message when trying to add a label.

Explanation

In the situation that prompted this article, the TEKLYNX CENTRAL browser interface in the TCADMIN site needed to use CODESOFT to render the print preview when adding a label. The LABELNET Host Common service was turned off. It is likely that this service keeps a connection to CODESOFT open so CODESOFT can render a label image quickly. With the service off, an error message is thrown.

Solution

Turning the service back on seems to fix the problem.
