CODESOFT cannot find UMSS server. There are two possible locations where this information is stored:

  2. C:\ProgramData\Tki\TkxSrv\TkxSvrUmss.config

The error may indicate that the IP address is incorrect. They can happen with a manual or silent install.

In the case that prompted this article, a failure to update the TkxSvrUmss.config file caused the error:

Check the IP address for accuracy. If incorrect, redirect to the correct location.

Locate a line:     <client url=”tcp://localhost:8989″>

Change it to :     <client url=”tcp://<server name>:8989″>
