UMSS can sometimes prompt for a user name and password when it normally does not prompt for this information (silent login). This happens when CS/LA attempts to contact the TC server but fails to authenticate. Scenario

User is opening CODESOFT with silent login activated but they do not have an account in the UMSS. In the situation that prompted this update to the article, the client had two TC servers…a test server and production server. The local instance of CODESOFT was pointed to the test server (that did not have their account setup) but the user thought they were accessing the production server (with their account active).
Check to see if the CS/LA instance is pointed to the right server. With CODESOFT open, check Tools\User Management and verify the server address.
