Like most software, the TEKLYNX CENTRAL 5.0 (TC 5.0) installation package performs as expected and completes without any issues. However, in some rare instances, TEKLYNX can experience installation issues. This article documents the issues that we, or our customers, have encountered and how they were resolved.
Note: These issues are rare and the resolutions suggested in this article may not resolve the issue for your particular situation. In some cases, we are still researching the underlying cause of an issue. This article is a hub and it will be updated as new information is discovered.

“<Aborted>” message during in-place upgrade of TC5.0 over TC4.5
When installing TC 5.0 over existing TC 4.5 installation, the program may issue an <Aborted> flag. This can occur for the Label Manager or any other component. The only option is to terminate the installation and retry. When you rerun the installation program, it wants to uninstall TC. After the uninstall is completed, you can run the installation again. However, you still receive the same – <Aborted> flag.
TkxSvrServer Services Starts and then Stops
We encountered this situation immediately after we applied PostReleaseFixes_V2 to a recent install of Teklynx Central 5.0. We followed the instructions but the service will stop after launching.
LPPA section is missing from Permission in UMSS / Group Properties
After successfully installing TC 5.0, you notice that the LPPA section is missing from the UMSS Group permission settings.
UMSS Database – each of the USERGROUPS and USERS Tables have only one record (Administrators, Administrator)
After a successful installation of TC5.0 and application of PostReleaseFix_v2, there is only the Administrators USERGROUPS table of the UMSS database and only the Administrator record in USERS table. This is despite the fact that there should be many more built-in User Groups as well as Users.
