Save CODESOFT Label Design Files Outside of LABEL ARCHIVE – LABEL ARCHIVE and TEKLYNX CENTRAL Instructions

Summary

This Instruction Article explains how to save label design files created with CODESOFT but checked into LABEL ARCHIVE (i.e. the Label Manager) outside of the database as an .LBL file for LABEL ARCHIVE or TEKLYNX CENTRAL users.

Instructions

There are two approaches however the “Save Locally from Label Archive Check-Out Screen” option is much simpler:

Save Locally from Label Archive Check-Out Screen

  1. Open CODESOFT (i.e. the Label Designer)
  2. Connect to LABEL ARCHIVE (i.e. the Label Manager)
  3. Open the Check-Out Screen – Select Check-Out from the drop down menu an select the desired label design and version
  4. Save Label Design File – Click on the Save Locally button to allow saving of the CODESOFT label design file outside of LABEL ARCHIVE

Save as a Draft, Check-out, and Save

  1. Open CODESOFT (i.e. the Label Designer)
  2. Connect to LABEL ARCHIVE (i.e. the Label Manager)
  3. Open the Check-Out Screen – Select Check-Out from the drop down menu an select the desired label design and version
  4. Check-Out Label Design – Select desired label design and version and click the OK button to check out
  5. Check-In as a Draft – Select Check-in from the CODESOFT File > Label Archive menu, make sure the default state is Draft and press the OK button
  6. Check-Out Draft Version and Save – Check out the Draft version of the label, the File > Save As menu option for CODESOFT should be available
