Print Job Comes Streaming Out of Print Applicator Without Waiting for Sensor Trigger – Printer Problems

Summary

The article explains the problem of the ID S4812 print applicator streaming out labels without waiting for a sensor trigger.

Symptoms

  • Running a print job with multiple labels
  • All the labels in the print job come streaming out of the printer at once (instead of pausing between each label and waiting for the sensor to trigger the next label)

Explanation

In the situation that prompted this problem, the printer driver for an IDT S4812 was set to “Continuous” mode. ‘Continuous Mode’ in the printer driver signals the printer to ignore the sensor and just stream out all labels in the print job immediately.

Solution

Changing the setting to ‘Dispense with Backfeed After Print’ resolved the problem.
