Some or All Labels Stored in History Disappear – BarTender Problem

Summary

This article explains how to resolve the BarTender problem that causes stored labels to disappear.

Symptoms

  • Open History Explorer or Reprint Console
  • Labels jobs are missing

Explanation

This is most likely due to Scheduled Maintenance settings.  These settings will automatically delete and/or archive label history.  It is easy to forget these settings and assume the history feature is not working or data is missing.

Solution

Update the settings in the Scheduled Maintenance section.

  1. Open BarTender
  2. In the Tools menu, select Administration Console
  3. In the Administration Console, select “Scheduled Maintenance” from the left hand navigation
  4. Check the “Database Maintenance will delete records older than…” option
