Finding the CODESOFT Configuration Files (.ini) – CODESOFT Instructions

This Instruction Article explains how to find the CODESOFT configuration ini files for CODESOFT back up or troubleshooting.

Instructions

  1. Browse to CODESOFT [version #] folder in Windows that holds configuration files (make sure to enable ‘view hidden folders: Control Panel -> Folder Options -> Show hidden files and folders -> check ‘Hidden files, folders, and drives’)

    • Windows 2008/2012/7:C:\ProgramData\Teklynx\CODESOFT [version #]\ 
    • Windows 2003/XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Teklynx\CODESOFT [version #]
  2. Copy all ‘Configuration settings’ (.ini extension) files in the root CODESOFT directory.  These files store CODESOFT configuration, actual printer information, and location.  Examples:
    • CS.ini(CODESOFT configuration settings, license location, default locations for labels, printers, etc.)
    • User.ini(User specific settings such as document locations, image file locations, ODBC, Paths, etc.)
