Explanation

User gets this error message when starting CODESOFT.  In the system Event Log – Windows System log shows Event ID 1000 with the offending module being MSVCR90.DLL – a standard Microsoft module from Visual Studio 2008.  It is being used by many commercial software.

The source of the problem was identified by one of our customers to be a specific font that was installed in Windows.  The font name is Avenir.

Solution

Removing the Avenir font appears to resolve this problem.  So far, we are unable to verify the problem and solution.
