This article explains the BarTender error message “BarTender: Error Message #3239 – OLE DB has encountered error 0x80040E14: Unknown error. OLE DB error message: IDispatch error #3092” and details how to fix the underlying problem that caused it to appear.
BarTender is executing an invalid SELECT or WHERE. This message appears when opening a BarTender file that has an existing database connection to a database that has been changed. The database change makes the previously valid SELECT or WHERE statements invalid. The same error has been seen both with:
1) Custom SQL statements
2) SQL statement created by the Database Connection Setup wizard
Correction of the incorrect SELECT statement (i.e. tables referenced were no longer valid) either by changing the custom query or disconnecting the database connection and rerunning the wizard made the error disappear.
